Police step up vigil
Following the bomb blasts in Ahmedabad and an alert, police took up checking of vehicles in the city on Sunday and intensified patrolling. According to DCP (Law and Order) K.V.V. Gopala Rao, all the personnel were involved in the exercise. The patrolling parties are checking vehicles at important junctions. An abandoned bag created some tense moments at Dondaparthy on Sunday afternoon. People had noticed a bag near the bus stop and observed that no one was claiming it. On receiving a phone call, the Fourth Town CI M. Srinivas rushed to the spot along with the bomb disposal squad and a dog squad. However, a search of the bag revealed nothing.
