RAMESWARAM: The MDMK general secretary, Vaiko, has urged the Centre to break the diplomatic relations with Sri Lankan government to register its protest against the killing of innocent Tamil Nadu fishermen. “Sri Lankan Navy’s action against Indian fishermen is not a stray incident to forget or forgive. More than 800 fishermen of Tamil Nadu had been killed since 1983. It has opened fire hundreds of times against them. How long the government can keep quiet even after witnessing the repeated oppressive and extreme measures on fishermen?” he asked. Mr. Vaiko was leading the day-long fast by party workers here on Sunday.
