32 militants surrender

Guwahati: Thirty-two militants belonging to various outfits surrendered and laid down weapons and explosives at the Army’s Dinjan base in upper Assam on Monday.
Of them, 15 including a woman cadre belonged to the United Liberation Front of Asom, four were from the Nationalist Socialist Congress of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah), three from NSCN (Khaplang), three from Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front, five from Adivasi National Liberation Army, one each from National Democratic Front of Boroland and Dima Halam Daogah.
Earlier on Sunday, troops of the Red Horns Division gunned down a leader of little known All-Kamatapur Liberation Front, who was involved in abduction of a senior engineer and contractor of a private construction company engaged in construction of East West Corridor National Highway in lower Assam. The slain militant has been identified as Uamandna Roy.
