Letters to the Editor
The serial blasts that rocked Bangalore and Ahmedabad are shameful. Such acts provoke disturbances and can ruin the harmony between communities. The designs of terrorists should be defeated by a display of unity and solidarity among the people, with the help of an effective legal mechanism that does not target a particular community. Syed Khaja, Gulbarga I am saddened by the cruel acts and cannot even bring myself to respond to the speculation on the identity of the perpetrators. The need of the hour is to help the victims and render them support in rebuilding their lives. It is also equally important to prevent further atrocities. If reiterating that Muslims do not support such violence will help, I readily do so. Thehseen Zakir, Kochi
