Each of the 16 higher secondary schools that offer computer science as a subject were given two computers, R.Kalyanasundaram, Chairman, Education Committee, Coimbatore Corporation, said. The Corporation Committee for Education was taking efforts in providing quality education at Corporation schools and this step was taken in this direction, he added. The Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu had earlier supplied laptops to Head Masters and Head Mistresses of Government Schools in order to help them to use the computer and the Internet for effective school administration. The Corporation will continue its efforts in providing at least five computers to each Corporation school, Mr.Kalyanasundaram said. Earlier, about seven schools had been provided with multimedia projectors along with computers. Multimedia computers were handed over to two more schools at the function.
