Tax defaulters warned of action

VIZIANAGARAM: Tax defaulters have been asked to pay taxes even before officials from Commercial Taxes Department initiated action against them.
Addressing a meeting of traders’ associations organised by The Vizianagaram Chamber of Commerce here on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner (Commercial Taxes) K. Radhakrishna Rao said majority of traders, who crossed the tax exemption limit of Rs.5 lakhs per annum had not registered with the department and also they were not remitting taxes.
Service centre
Regarding other problems, Mr. Radhakrishna Rao said C-forms and other statutory applications would be made available at the service centre opened in the department. He asked traders to submit utilisation bills to avoid delays.
President of Chamber of Commerce V.V. Kasi Viswanadham and secretary Ch.V. Narasimha Rao and others were present. Earlier, leaders of various associations felicitated Mr. Radhakrishna Rao.
