JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government’s Election Department is formulating a comprehensive action plan for training officials in various aspects of the electoral exercise in the run-up to the State Assembly elections due later this year. Chief Election Officer Vinod Zutshi, presiding over a meeting for finalising the action plan here on Tuesday, said the training would be provided to district elections officers, returning officers, assistant returning officers, police officers, sector and zonal magistrates, polling officers and booth-level officers. The officers will be apprised of various guidelines issued by the Election Commission during the training. Mr. Zutshi said the training would cover subjects such as voters’ photo identity cards, electronic voting machines, polling, counting of votes and functioning of the voter assistance booth system. Jaipur Collector and District Election Officer Praveen Gupta and a large number of senior officers attended the meeting.
