Treasures and valuables of the murdered King Faisal of Iraq “believed to be worth nearly £500,000” are reported on June 28 to have been recovered from a safe in his English manor home. The Daily Sketch, reporting this, says the safe was “cracked” by experts on behalf of a London firm of solicitors. Originally the late King’s possessions in Britain were estimated at £27,000. But, the Daily Sketch adds, that was “before the contents of the safe were known.”
