Visakahapatnam: Nine important prime sites of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation were selected for the proposals to be taken up under PPP. The most important one is the 26,000 sq ft site valued at about Rs.200 crore near Sampath Vinayak temple. A mega shopping complex, multiplex and apartment blocks were proposed at this site. Some corporators suggested a hostel for working women at this site. At the 911.11 sq ft site near Seetammadhara and the 433.33 sq ft site near Pandurangapuram, ultra-modern marketing and shopping malls were proposed. While an up-market commercial complex would come up at the site near Jagannadhaswamy temple, medical and health units were proposed at KGH gate site measuring 510 sq.ft. An entertainment park for children and a three star hotel were proposed on sites at Muvvalavanipalem colony and Baji junction respectively. While a modern hotel and a transit guest house were envisaged at the municipal guest house in Kirlampudi, provision for multi-level parking would be made at the Vemana mandir in Asilmetta.
