Sivanesan scripts St. John’s win

CHENNAI: P.T. Sivanesan’s 107 enabled St. John’s script a 10-run win over St. Bede’s ‘A’ in the TNCA-Boost city schools under-16 cricket tournament for the C. Ramaswamy Trophy here recently. The matches were restricted to 35 overs due to overnight rain.

The scores: St. John’s 211 for four in 35 overs (P.T. Sivanesan 107, Shikhar Hukku 61 n.o.) bt St. Bede’s ‘A’ 201 for eight in 35 overs (Leonard Bruno 41, R. Ananth 41, K. Bharath Shankar 43, B. Aparajith 40, C. Ashuthosh four for 22).

Govt. HSS ‘A’ 126 for nine in 35 overs (Mohd. Azaruddin 36 not out, B. Sai Rupesh three for 17) lost to Santhome ‘B’ 127 for seven in 33.3 overs (B. Kishore 27).

Ashwin to lead

R. Ashwin will captain the Tamil Nadu team in the Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup invitation cricket tournament to be held in Hyderabad.
