Capturing Kerala in colours

A MARVELLOUS STROKE: This is one of the works of art by Eby N. Joseph, which will be on display at Alliance Francaise in Puducherry.

PUDUCHERRY: Sketches of virgin beaches, blue mountains, free flowing rivers, palm-fringed hills, a canopy of emerald landscapes and portraits of eminent personalities will be on display at Maison Colombani House, Alliance Française, from August 1.

Artist Eby N. Joseph will exhibit 30 of his works at Kerala Darsanam, a 10-day exhibition.

Through the works done on canvas in acrylic colours, Mr. Joseph provides a glimpse of the nature’s bounty Kerala has been endowed with.

“Each work takes the viewer from a plain view of the picture to a visual experience than turns out to be spiritual. The works bear witness to the dynamic presence of the unbridled use of colour offering, the feeling of co-existence with nature,” he says.

Along with the exhibition, portrait demonstrations will be held for art lovers on selected dates.

Health Minister E. Valsaraj will inaugurate the exhibition in the presence of ‘Tamilmamani Seva Ratna’ N. Govindasamy, Chevalier V. Nallam and Director of Alliance Française Michel Houdayer.
