Call to provide more scholarships

MALAPPURAM: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded that all students, irrespective of caste and community, whose parents’ annual income is below Rs.1 lakh, be given the monthly scholarship of Rs.450 announced by the Central government. BJP district president K. Narayanan said here on Wednesday that limiting the Central aid to minority students alone would be tantamount to discrimination on religious lines. —Staff Reporter
