Various events to mark Independence Day

KASARAGOD: A joint meeting of officials and heads of various educational institutions in the district, held at the District Collectorate here on Tuesday, has decided to organise various programmes as part of Independence Day.

The district-level celebrations will be held at Municipal Stadium, Vidya Nagar here.

The celebrations would begin with the hoisting of the National Flag at the stadium at 8.30 a.m. on August 15. A parade of the police, NCC and scouts and guides contingents will follow.

A programme by students of Little Lilly Senior Secondary School, Kumbla would be held after that. Students of Navodaya School, Peria and Uduma Residential School would render patriotic songs.
