Bidar
BIDAR: M. Devanand, Deputy Director of Public Instructions (DDPI), Bidar has been suspended with immediate effect on charges of dereliction of duties and misuse of power. The release said Mr. Devanand had promoted 20 primary school teachers to high school teachers in 2006-07. These primary school teachers were listed as “ineligible” by the previous DDPI in 2005-06. Besides, he had put 60 teachers on deputation from rural areas to city schools in 2006-07 in violation of government order. — Staff Correspondent
