Narco-analysis reports awaited in KIMS shooting case: Police Commissioner

Proposal sent on deploying bomb disposal squad in Hubli-Dharwad

The police have asked for a second sniffer dog

HUBLI: Hubli-Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shivakumar has said that the police have not got any definite clues on the blast that occurred at the Hubli court in April.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, he said that the investigations were still on. The police had recovered a SIM card from the blast site, but it was damaged, he said. On whether there was any similarity between the blasts in Hubli and Bangalore, Mr. Shivakumar said that the Hubli blast was triggered using a cell phone, while timers were used in Bangalore.

To a query, he said that in December 2007, the Hubli-Dharwad Police Commissionerate had sent a proposal for deploying a bomb disposal squad in the twin cities.

Recently, the State Intelligence Wing also had forwarded proposals to the Government recommending deployment of bomb disposal squads in various cities in the State, he said.

Reports awaited

The Commissionerate had only one sniffer dog and a proposal had been sent for getting another, he said.

On the KIMS shooting case, the Commissioner said that the police were waiting for the reports of the narco-analysis tests carried out on a few suspects. The Police Commissioner said that the autorickshaw driver who had given the police a tip-off on Tuesday, would be rewarded. It had helped them arrest two persons, he said

Two cases of abandoned suitcases had been reported in the city in the past two days and it had caused alarm. One was an abandoned suitcase, but the other, which was reportedly stolen, was claimed by its owner.
