Two people crushed to death

HASSAN: Two people were killed on the spot after the tractor by which they were travelling overturned near Siddapura village on Tuesday.

The tractor was transporting stone pillars from Javanahalli village in Dudda hobli of Hassan taluk to Alur. The police identified the dead as Shivalingappa (50) and Ningappa (43) of the village. They were crushed to death when the stone pillars fell on them after the tractor overturned, the police said. The driver ran away after the accident, they added. The Dudda police have registered a case.

Rame Gowda (45), who was returning from his farm in Javare Koppalu in Holenarsipur taluk, died after lightning struck him on Wednesday. Holenarsipur Rural Police have registered a case.
