Former police commando denies reports
Staff Reporter
KOCHI: P.M. Ismail, a former member of the special commando group of the Kochi City Police, has denied reports of his links with extremist outfits.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Ismail, residing at Perumbavoor near here, said that a section of the media had reported that the police had arrested him in connection with the recent Bangalore blasts.
Denying such reports, he said the police was targeting him after he was dismissed from service following allegations of having trained personal security guards of Abdul Nasir Maudany, leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr. Ismail, who had received commando training for the protection of VIPs, said he did not have any links with the PDP.
