MALAPPURAM: The student community has rejected the controversies raised by the Opposition and its youth organisations regarding the class VII Social Science textbook, Students Federation of India (SFI) State secretary A.N. Shamseer said here on Tuesday. “The results of the Calicut University college union elections are testimony to that,” he said in a statement issued here. Mr. Shamseer said students in most colleges under the Calicut University stood by the SFI, rejecting the unholy alliances formed by the Muslim Students Federation (MSF), the Kerala Students Union (KSU) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Mr. Shamseer said the SFI had secured 43 of the 61 college unions, elections of which were held on Monday. Out of the 73 university union councillors (UUCs)elected, the SFI had 54.
