Privilege notice
BANGALORE: Opposition member in the Legislative Council V.S. Ugrappa on Wednesday moved a privilege motion against the government. He wanted the House to reprimand the government on giving the contract of producing energy foods meant for schoolchildren to a Tamil Nadu-based company ignoring the government’s own factories “Agrocorn,” that has been supplying energy foods since 1979. A privilege notice can be served against an individual and if it is against a Government, the functionary of the Government who has committed a breach of privilege should be specified. Acting Chairman N. Thippanna reserved his ruling. — Special Correspondent
