Two labourers die
PERUNDURAI: Two migrant labourers died and four workers were hospitalised following an accident at a dyeing factory at the SIPCOT industrial estate here on Wednesday morning.
According to the Chennimalai Police, Mohammed and Munna of Bihar died around 10 a.m. while cleaning an effluent treatment tank at Glassy Dyeing House (P) Ltd. The exact cause of death is uncertain as there are two versions floating around.
The first is that the workers slipped and fell into the tank and died.
The second is that they died of asphyxia while cleaning the tank. The exact cause will be known only after post mortem, which is expected to take a couple of days as relatives of the deceased have to identify the body.
