NEW DELHI: The Congress on Wednesday demanded that the Bharatiya Janata Party “condemn and disown” the statement of senior BJP leader and spokesperson Sushma Swaraj that the blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad were a “conspiracy to divert attention from the cash-for-vote scandal.” This is a serious and unfortunate charge. It shows that the BJP has no faith in India itself. [By levelling this charge], the party has given a clean chit to every terrorist and every country that is trying to foment trouble in our country,” said Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi. By not condemning the allegation, the BJP had shown its “true face,” he said.
