BMJC scores a big win over TES College

BANGALORE: Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College (BMJC) notched up a 6-1 victory over TES College in the Karnataka State Hockey Association inter-college tournament here on Wednesday.

Naeemuddin (4th & 18th), Pradeep (24th & 30th), Hari Govind (13th) and Regun (50th) were the scorers for BM Jain. Umesh (22nd) reduced the margin.

In another match, Al Ameen ‘A’ beat Frank Anthony Public School 8-0. Chirag (10th & 39th), Rafeeq (32nd & 41st), Mohan Muthanna (9th), Birju (12th), Somanna (38th) and Vinayak (45th) sounded the boards.

In the T. Shanmugham memorial inter-school tournament, Jose Paul Johnson notched up a hat-trick (25th, 26th & 30th) to lead Sarla Birla Academy to a 14-0 win over Ryan International High School. Abhay Jalan (2nd, 8th,13th & 39th) and Amarthya Ghosh (12th, 15th, 17th & 40th), Jay Talaviya (43rd & 45th), and Uthanga (4th) also scored.

In the second match, Lions HS (Haveri) beat Best HS 2-1. Bharat (14th) and Satish (58th) scored for Lions HS, while A. Sandeep (9th) netted Best HS’s goal.

SJBHS squeaks past Vidya Shilp

St. Joseph’s Boys High School scored a narrow 1-0 victory over Vidya Shilp in the under-12 boys’ hockey tournament for the Allan MacBride Trophy here on Wednesday. Vinay Jain (40th) was the scorer.

In the Tanvi Rao memorial tournament for girls (upto X standard) St. Euphrasia’s ‘A’ beat Bishop Cotton’s ‘B’ 4-0. Elizabeth Rani (4th & 30th) and T. Suma (19th & 34th) scored a brace each.

In the second match, Frank Anthony Public School beat St. John’s 8-0. Marsha Striker (4th, 10th, 14th), Devika Guptha (18th), Meghana Balachandra (24th), Meghana Rebecca (36th), Atita Verghese (38th) and Pavithra Naeveen (39th) scored for Frank Anthony.

Adithya scalps four

Adithya Nahar grabbed four wickets, inclusive of a hat-trick, to help BBUL Jain Vidyalaya defeat Daffodils English School by 65 runs in a B.T. Ramaiah Shield under-15 tournament match here on Wednesday.

The scores: BBUL Jain Vidyalaya 192 for eight in 30 overs (V. Pranav 53) bt Daffodils English School 127 for eight in 30 overs (Shashank 50, Adithya Nahar four for 19).

Aradhana HS 132 for seven in 30 overs bt St. John’s HS 77 in 20.3 overs (Tushar four for 16, Nanda Kishore four for 20).

St. Mira’s HS 162 in 22 overs (Sharath 95) bt Royal English School 123 in 30 overs.

Clarence Public School 185 for seven in 30 overs bt Auden Inst. of Education 160 in 27.3 overs (J. Abhishek 41).

Sri Kumaran’s Children Home 182 for nine in 25 overs (R.P. Darshan 119, B.N. Karthik four for 11) bt Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan 91 in 22.2 overs (R.P. Darshan four for 20).
