BANGALORE: BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said that Sachin Tendulkar playing for Lashings alongside Dinesh Mongia who figures in the ICL is something beyond the purview of the Board. “Sachin Tendulkar was on vacation in England and he played a few matches for Lashings which are basically unofficial. So the Board has nothing to do with it,” Shah said when queried on whether any action is being contemplated against Tendulkar for playing with Mongia who is part of the ICL league. Shah also allayed fears over a probable Australian boycott of its tour of India in October following the serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad. “We, at the BCCI, understand the concerns of Cricket Australia. Their security team will be here shortly to assess our facilities and I am sure the tour will be held as per schedule,” Shah said. Shah was non-committal about a camp for the Indian ODI team prior to its departure to Sri Lanka. “I am not sure about that (camp), but a few players will come here to train at the NCA before going to Sri Lanka,” he said. After the Test series, India will play five ODIs in Sri Lanka from August 18 to 29. — Principal Correspondent
