For pioneering role: Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran presenting the IT Man of the Year Award to Technopark Chief Financial Officer K.C. Chandrasekharan Nair. Thiruvananthapuram: The Technology Business Incubation unit on Technopark campus here has played a pioneering role in bringing knowledge-driven industries to the State by spurring entrepreneurial spirit among technocrats, according to K.C. Chandrasekharan Nair, Chief Financial Officer and Programme Manager (new initiatives), Technopark. Speaking after receiving the IT Man of the Year Award 2008, instituted by Kerala Sahridaya Vedi here on Wednesday, Mr. Nair said the business incubation unit had created an ecosystem and a fertile ground to promote the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. “We are proud of the fact that we have incubated more than 70 start-up technology companies over the last four years, registering a success rate of over 90 per cent,” he said. Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran presented the award to Mr. Nair. Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Pannian Ravindran, MP; Mayor C. Jayan Babu; Kutty Ahmed Kutty, MLA and the former Education Minister E.T. Mohammed Basheer were among those present on the occasion. In 2007, Technopark had received the national award for the best technology incubator in the country instituted by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
