BANGALORE: Version One dot Oh! and Workshop Productions are presenting a weekend of theatre with two plays. Vijay Tendulkar’s “Silence! The Court is in Session”, directed by Kishore Acharya, will be staged on Friday with one show at 7.30 p.m. and Sunday with two shows at 3.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m., at the Alliance Francaise. A drama in three acts, the play is an honest take on society’s way of dealing with non-conformists. As relevant as when it was written and staged four decades ago, the play continues to provoke thought and debate, while exposing the dark side of middle class morality. Tickets for the 3.30 p.m. show are priced at Rs. 100 and those for the 7.30 p.m. show are priced at Rs. 150. For tickets call Ph: 9845883912, 9886318691. Harold Pinter’s “The Dumb Waiter”, directed by Harish Seshadri, and in arrangement with Samuel French of Jagriti, will be staged on August 2 with three shows starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are priced at Rs. 100. Two assassins — Ben and Gus — are in a basement kitchen, waiting for their victim. The basement has also a “Dumb Waiter” — who constantly brings down food orders. The questions Ben and Gus ask are — “Who is sending these food orders and what are they?” For tickets, call 9845350195, 9986863615.
