NEW DELHI: Six persons, including three women, sustained injuries when a speeding vehicle rammed into the central verge of a road in Pandav Nagar here on Wednesday. The injured have been admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri and Jeevan Anmol hospitals in the area. The accident took place when the RTV vehicle driver lost control over the wheel and hit the central verge near Noida Mor around 9-30 a.m. The bus then hit a lamp-post before coming to a halt. About 30 passengers, mostly residents of Vasundhra Enclave, were on board the mini-bus. The injured have been identified as Amarjeet Singh (63), Reva Dhar (61), Neelam Kapoor (57), Vijay (51), Nimmi Kaul (48) and Meenakshi Sharma (50) who sustained multiple fractures. “The mini-bus was meant to ferry students of Green Mary Public School in Lakshmi Nagar but the driver illegally took passengers for Karol Bagh and Connaught Place to make some money. He was driving dangerously at the time of the accident. The driver fled the spot, but the mini-bus has been impounded,” said a senior police officer. A case has been registered under Section 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt) and 427 (mischief causing damage) of the Indian Penal Code.
