BANGALORE: A woman was murdered allegedly by her husband at Madiwala here on Wednesday. The police said Puttananjamma (45) was working as a domestic help and was looking after her husband Siddalingaiah (55) and three children. Siddalingaiah was an alcoholic and used to quarrel with Puttananjamma frequently, demanding money for drink. When Puttananjamma refused to give him money on Wednesday, he allegedly stabbed her with a pair of scissors and hit her on the head with a heavy stick. Puttananjamma collapsed on the floor and Siddalingaiah fled when neighbours rushed in. She died on the way to hospital. The Madiwala police later arrested Siddalingaiah. DiesA 50-year-old fruit vendor died after a gate in the K.R. Market fell on her on Wednesday. The police said Tillenayaki of Chennai went to the market carrying fruits. She pushed the gate open to enter the market when it fell on her, causing head injuries. She died before she was taken to hospital. AccidentAslam (35), a tailor, died when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a vehicle on Hebbal flyover on Tuesday. Aslam was returning home when the accident occurred, the police said. ArrestedThe city police have arrested four persons in connection with the violence that erupted in J.C. Nagar on July 11. Trouble erupted following rumours that a carcass was found on the premises of a place of worship.
