Compensation announced

BANGALORE: Transport Minister R. Ashok has announced a compensation of Rs. 2.50 lakh to the family of a girl student who died in a road accident in Chikmagalur district on Tuesday. A press release from the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation said that a KSRTC bus belonging to Chikmagalur division fell into a field from Ambale Doddakere bund, killing a girl student and causing injuries to several passengers. The bus was proceeding to Chikmagalur from Halmidi. — Staff Reporter
