Mumbai student tops PE-II exam

CHENNAI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the results of the Professional Education- II (PE-II) examination held on May 2008.
Vipul Nareshkumar Dhoot (Mumbai) bagged the all-India first rank, while Delhi candidates Chhabilal Acharya and Badri Vishal took the second and third ranks, an ICAI press note said.
The proportion of girls appearing for the PE-II, or the first stage of the CA course, has increased over the years. This year, of the 17,291 students, 5,153 (29 per cent) were girls.
The pass percentage of girls was 8.48 per cent as against 7.76 per cent for boys.
