Monnet Ispat posts higher sales, profit

CHENNAI: Monnet Ispat and Energy Ltd. (MIEL) recorded a total income of Rs. 383.30 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2008, against Rs. 238.09 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous year, an increase of 61 per cent. The net profit has improved by 52.7 per cent to Rs. 70.32 crore from Rs. 46.04 crore.
