THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Official Language Department of the State Bank of Travancore will organise competitions in elocution, essay writing and patriotic songs for Plus Two students as part of this years’ Hindi Day celebrations. The competitions will be held from 9 a.m. on August 9 at the Staff Training Centre, Poojappura. Each school can nominate two students for the elocution and the essay writing competitions and one team (of not more than 10 students) for the patriotic songs competition. The winning team in elocution and essay competitions will be given prizes worth Rs.1,000. Runners up will get prizes worth Rs.750 and the team in the third position takes home prizes worth Rs.500. For the patriotic songs competition, prizes worth Rs.1,000 and Rs.750 will be given to the winning team and the runners up respectively. Nominations should reach the office of the chief manager of the Official Language Department, SBT, Head Office, Thiruvananthapuram on or before August 7.
