Various cultural and religious programmes will be held to mark the occasion Udupi: Sri Krishna Navotsava will be held to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami at Sri Krishna Math/Temple here from August 16 to 24. Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji of Paryaya Puttige Math said that various cultural and religious programmes would be held to mark the occasion. This will include a religious discourse by Vishwapriya Tirtha Swamiji of Admar Math from August 5 to 22. Scholars will be felicitated during the “navotsava”. Various competitions such as “Mosaru Kudike”, “Huli Vesha” and “Muddu Krishna” will be held during the Krishna Leelotsava on August 24. An attraction of the Krishna Leelotsava (also known as “Vittal Pindi”) will be the “Govinda Aala Re” celebrations as held in Mumbai. The “navotsava” will be inaugurated by Energy Minister K.S. Eshwarappa on August 16. Religious Endowments Minister S.N. Krishnaiah Shetty will be present on the occasion.
