THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A group of graduate students from the University of St. Thomas in Houston Texas visited the Technopark-based Afras Academy for Business Communication recently as part of their course “Globalisation of business services.” A press note here said Beena George, Assistant Professor, led the 14 students from the university’s Cameron School of Business. The team would visit Bangalore. Ms. George said the aim of the group’s study-abroad course was to help students integrate issues related to globalisation and the global marketplace into their thinking about business organisations. The group would seek to gain insights into location-based advantages for business in India. “The course explores the challenges faced by organisations in serving various segments of the global and Indian markets and in managing the sourcing of resources required by the organisation,” the press note said. Tina Parsons, executive director (training) of the academy, and chief operating officer R. Jeevakumar received the students. After a tour of the academy, the team met the members of its first batch, which will pass out next week, the press note added.
