NELLORE: The government has sanctioned Rs. 15 crore to divert water from Somasila to villages in Udayagiri mandal to mitigate drinking water problems in the upland areas, according to Udayagiri MLA Mekapati Chandrasekhara Reddy. “The district administration has earlier sent a proposal to divert one tmcft of water from Somasila with an estimated cost of Rs. 100 crore. Subsequently, the government has sanctioned Rs. 15 crore in the first phase to take up works pertaining to the drinking water project,” the legislator told reporters at Udayagiri.
