MALAPPURAM: A section of Akshaya entrepreneurs in the district are on a warpath, seeking intervention of the government for their survival. They have threatened to launch an agitation if the government fails to intervene to help them ease their burden of debt. The Akshaya Entrepreneurs Association will hold a meeting of the entrepreneurs here on Sunday to chalk out their future course of action. Leaders of the association said here on Thursday that many of the entrepreneurs were facing confiscation of their properties as they had ‘mortgaged their livelihood for a living offered by the government.’ IT Mission flayedThe State IT Mission, which implemented the Akshaya e-literacy project on a pilot basis in Malappuram, had not come for the rescue of the entrepreneurs when they needed help. Instead, the IT Mission shirked the financial commitment it made when the project was launched in 2003, said the entrepreneurs.
