Muzaffarnagar: Five children were drowned in the district on Thursday even as the water level of Yamuna rose due to heavy rains, police said. Three of them drowned in a pond at Bijola village of Muzaffarnagar district where they had taken their cattle, police said. Bodies of Shafiz (8), Hafis (10) and Amir (8) were later fished out of the pond. In another incident, two brothers -- Sahab (8) and Abdul Rehman (20) were swept away while taking a bath in Yamuna at Gamguwaza village of Saharanpur district. Their bodies are yet to be recovered.
