Awareness programme for sanitary workers conducted

TIRUCHI: The police on Thursday conducted an awareness programme for sanitary workers of Tiruchi Corporation of identifying suspicious objects while performing their daily duty of garbage removal. The sanitary workers were briefed on the do’s and don’ts when they come across suspicious objects which could be explosive devices by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) R.Chinnasamy.

Corporation Commissioner T.T.Balsamy and officials attended the programme. The police had already conducted a similar programme for the Railway porters as part of the precautionary measures in the wake of the serial bomb blasts at Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
