Heavy inflow to dams

HYDERABAD: The inflows reaching Tungabhadra Dam at Hospet in Karnataka swelled to 80,463 cusecs on Thursday even as widespread rains continued over the State. Srisailam project is in for getting inflows now, as the authorities opened a few crest-gates of Tungabhadra Dam, releasing 8,700 cusecs. The discharge is expected to reach Srisailam in day or two. Srisailam, however, began to get an inflow of 1,000 cusecs from its own source, the Krishna river. — Special Correspondent
