JAIPUR: A three-day fun-fest “Jaipur by night”, beginning here on Friday, will showcase the rich cultural, literary and artistic heritage of the Pink City through light-and-sound shows after sunset. The historic Amber Fort will be one of the important venues for the programme. Rajasthan Minister of State for Tourism Usha Punia said here on Thursday that the fun-fest was being organised to promote off-season tourism. “Contrary to popular perception that Jaipur is hot during summer and monsoon, the mornings and evenings in the city are comfortable,” she said. The event that is expected to attract tourists from Spain, France and Latin America, is being organised jointly by the State Government and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Ms. Punia said the fun-fest would send across a message to tourists that the situation in Jaipur and Rajasthan had returned to normal after the recent serial bomb blasts and the Gujjar agitation. In addition to the light-and-sound shows, music, dance, food court, golf, polo and heritage walks will also be organised during the fest.
