“Houses for middle class by next year”
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Houses, being constructed by the government under Rajiv Swagruha scheme for salaried and middle-class families in the State, will have to be handed over to beneficiaries next year, said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He fixed this deadline while reviewing the progress of the scheme here on Thursday. He asked officials to see that the applicants secured the house/flat under the scheme at a rate that was 20-25 per cent less than that in the open market.
Housing Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said 4,000 acres had been acquired for the purpose by the AP Rajiv Swagruha Corporation.
