Tributes paid to PRC
Staff Reporter
TIRUCHI: The contribution of veteran Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader and the party’s former Polit Bureau member P. Ramachandran, who passed away recently, to the organisation, its growth and to the trade union movement was fondly recalled by senior members of the party at a function organised here on Wednesday.
Paying rich tributes to the veteran Communist leader, who was called “PRC” by party cadres, the speakers described him as a towering personality who stuck to his ideals and led a highly disciplined life. Unveiling the portrait, Polit Bureau member K. Varadharajan said Mr. Ramachandran had worked very hard for building the party as Tiruchi district secretary in the 60s.
