Kanika meets Diana

NEW DELHI: Kanika Kanwal of ASN Senior Secondary School registered a thumping 21-5, 21-6 victory over Bhadya Rishi of Ahlcon Public School to book a berth in the under-10 girls’ singles final of the fourth ASN Delhi State inter-school badminton championship here on Thursday.

Kanika will meet schoolmate Diana Baruah in the final. Diana defeated another ASN girl Anamika 21-9, 21-10 in the semifinals.

Other results (semifinals): Singles: Boys: U-10: Yohaan (Sri Ram School, Vasant Vihar) bt Suraj (ASN SSS) 21-13, 21-13; Siddhant (DPS Mathura Road) bt Rahul Patel (Sardar Patel School) 21-16. 21-19.

Team event: Boys: U-13: ASN SSS bt Maharaja Agrasen School 2-0; Bal Bharti School (Rohini) bt Tagore International (East of Kailash) 2-0.

Girls: U-19: Apeejay School (Pitampura) bt Ahlcon Public School 2-0; SSLT Gujarati School bt ASN SSS 2-1.

U-16: Modern School (Barakhamba Road) bt DAV School (Srestha Vihar) 2-0; Holy Child School (Tagore Garden) bt Bal Bharti School (Rohini) 2-1.
