KARIMNAGAR: Three persons of a family were hacked by a suspected dacoit gang in Kalvacherla village of Kamanpur mandal on Wednesday night. Police sources said that the gang gained entry into the house by removing the latch and started killing the inmates -- V. Ramesh (28), his wife Madhavi (25) and mother Sathyamma (55) -- who were fast asleep. The gang did not even spare small children -- Sai (4) and Spoorthi (1) -- and beat them mercilessly till they fainted. The police shifted the children to hospital and their condition is stated to be out of danger. Later, the gang ransacked the house and snatched gold ornaments and other property to depict as if the dacoits had burgled the house for property. They also took away some cash and gold ornaments from two other neighbouring houses. Police said that the family of the deceased had some dispute with their relatives over the property issue. Superintendent of Police Y. Gangadhar, Godavarikhani ASP Tarun Joshi, Godavarikhani two town CI D. Narsaiah visited the spot. The clues team and dog squad was pressed into service to collect all the evidences from the spot.
