THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Nair Service Society (NSS) has sought the government’s intervention for solving issues connected with the birth place of Chattambi Swamy at Kannanmoola here. Its general secretary P.K. Naryana Panicker refuted reports to the effect that the NSS had no role in the march taken out to the place on Wednesday and that its present owners had bought the land after consultations with NSS. He said that they approached the NSS only when problems cropped up after they purchased the land. As it was an emotional issue to not just for the Nair community but also for Hindus at large, the NSS did not want it to become more complex. So, the NSS had put forward a suggestion before the present owners but they did not consider it, he added. —Special Correspondent
