Uma Bharti BHOPAL: Bharatiya Janshakti president Uma Bharti on Thursday adopted a belligerent posture towards the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and declared her party as a viable alternative in the State. Addressing a party convention here on Wednesday, Ms. Bharti took pot-shots at the BJP, accusing it of reckless corruption and playing with the hopes and aspirations of party workers. She said the BJP would be defeated by its own party workers in the Assembly elections later this year The Bharatiya Janshakti leader said that of the 10 BJP Members of Parliament who refused to obey the party whip during the recent trust vote, only Chandrabhan Singh, the MP from Damoh, was targeted and his house was attacked by those in the BJP. Ms. Bharti said even the Congress has nothing much to write home about and the situation is ripe for her party to emerge as a force to reckon with. The party has emerged as the third political alternative in the State, she added. Accusing the State Ministers of indulging in corruption, she said the voters would not spare them.
