Herculean task for enforcement agencies
The serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad indeed cast a shadow on the enthusiasm of citizens in Hyderabad. ’
As news unfolded about how blasts took place in two cities and how more than 18 unexploded bombs were found in Surat, the reaction was initially muted. But then it turned into a scare. The images of the ghastly scenes at the Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat explosions is still fresh in the memory of people.
With ‘Bonalu’ festival being celebrated in old city, it was indeed a Herculean task for the law enforcement agencies to provide security. Mercifully, the event passed off peacefully, but the police can not take it easy anymore. All it needs for a terrorist is to succeed once, even if his attempts to strike terror are foiled 99 times.
Searching for a hidden bomb in a city like Hyderabad is literally like searching for a needle in the haystack.
But such difficult tasks can be achieved easily if only the people willingly cooperate with the police.
