Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: The 13th Trivandrum International Film Festival organised by the Chalachitra Film Society will begin here on Friday with a formal inauguration by director Shaji N.Karun. Additional Chief Secretary K.Jayakumar is scheduled to preside over the inaugural function. Israeli filmmaker Dan Wolman will be the chief guest. The function will be followed by the screening of the inaugural film Tied Hands, directed by Dan Wolmen. The screening of films will begin at Kala Bhavan Theatre on Friday morning. As many as 46 films from 24 countries will be screened at the week-long festival. Six popular Indian films- Jodha Akbar, Bhima, Aamir, Note Book, Chocolate and Jab We Meet will be screened as a package. A separate package of five films is to be screened to celebrate the 60th year of Sri Lankan cinema. The curtains will come down on the festival on August 7 with Andrzej Wadja’s latest film KATYN.
