Revised water tariff from today

Udupi: The Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) has revised the water tariffs in the city from August 1. Its president Dinakar Shetty said on Thursday that the water tariffs for domestic consumers will be: Rs. 75 for consumption up to 18,000 litres a month, Rs. 7.50 a kl between 18,000 litres and 25,000 litres, Rs. 10 a kl between 25,000 litres and 50,000 litres, and Rs. 15 a kl for consumption above 50,000 litres. The water tariff for commercial consumers will be: Rs. 150 a month for consumption up to 18,000 litres, Rs. 15 a kl between 18,000 litres and 25,000 litres, Rs. 20 a kl between 25,000 litres and 50,000 litres, and Rs. 25 a kl above 50,000 litres. The meter reading charge for domestic consumers will be Rs. 5 a month and for commercial consumers Rs. 10 a month.
