Reaching out: NTPP president T. Devender Goud offering tribute at the Telangana martyrs memorial in Hanamkonda on Thursday. - WARANGAL: Nava Telangana Praja Party (NTPP) leader T. Devender Goud hoped that separate Telangana would be formed before the 2009 elections as the movement reached a peak stage. At a ‘meet the press’ programme organised by the district unit of APUWJ, he said the national parties were not in a position to dictate terms and are dependent on regional parties. “If all the Telangana forces come together, any national party will come forward to vote for our demand,” he opined. Describing the Congress as enemy number one, he said it was resorting to horse trading and use of money in elections depriving the people from participating in the democracy. “The politics have become dearer with kind of money being spent on elections. The Congress leaders are amassing public money and spending the same thus denying the people of their chance to take part in elections,” he said. With a view to cleanse the politics and reverse the trend, the NTPP would strive to motivate youth and encourage them to take part in election process. The youth should come forward to end the anti-democratic rule of the Congress. “The BCs and other marginalised sections should not be at the receiving end. They should be part of the democratic process and should have equal say with other sections in politics,” Mr. Goud pointed out. The NTPP leader was here on an invitation from various Telangana Students’ associations to attend a students’ convention on Kakatiya University campus here on Thursday. The party would soon come out with a series of programmes involving every section of the society, particularly youth to offer good governance and end the misrule in the state. He ruled out alliances with other parties stating that it was too early to speak on the issue.
