Mumbai ATS seizes laptops
Staff Reporter
Mumbai: As part of its ongoing investigations to find the source of the e-mail sent on the day of the Ahmedabad blasts, the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad has so far seized seven systems, comprising laptops and hard disks, from houses in the neighbourhood of the American national Kenneth Haywood from whose Internet Protocol address the e-mail was sent. Forensic analysts are currently examining them.
“We are exploring all the possibilities. A multitude of possibilities exists,” ATS chief Hemant Karkare told reporters on Thursday.
The ATS had not yet established that Mr. Haywood’s e-mail was hacked. He was, therefore, still on the list of suspects and had to be available to help investigations.
Mr. Haywood visited the ATS office on Thursday. He came to “state his side” of the story. The police had not called him, said an ATS official. He refused to speak to the media.
